Serene is a natural motivator who teaches clients to embrace their power. Her way of sequencing a program and exercise repertoire is limitless with her extensive fitness background. Her creativity with teaching, mixed with a healthy, fun attitude, is a recipe for success. She takes great pride in inspiring others to love their body and movement at any age.

Serene grew up as a gymnast and found freedom, grace, and power within her sport as she pushed herself beyond her expectations.
However, as a teenager, she relocated with her family away from her home gym, where she started her gymnastics career. The decision to take her athletic career to the next level required a large commitment financially and for her family. So, she did her training at home. Accessing tree branches as parallel bars, wood planks as beams, jumping for hours on her trampoline, she still had an outlet for her love of movement.

While attending junior college before transferring to UCLA, she found herself in a lot of back pain so her physical therapist recommended she try Pilates. She took her first Pilates class, and it reawakened her love for movement at age 17. It took a few instructors to find one that broke down the true meaning of Pilates. Pilates reignited the focus, concentration, and control she instilled in her body at a young age.

After practicing Pilates for ten years, she took her love for it to the next level and became a certified Pilates instructor through BASI (Body Arts and Science International). She discovered that she loved teaching movement as much as she loved moving her own body!

Since that first class 23 years ago, she has built a successful business teaching both in-person and online with virtual sessions. Serene also holds certifications in Functional Range Conditioning (FRCms), YogaBody Breath Coach, Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies (BASI), and BASI Pilates Mentor Program, and a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She is a strong believer in continuing education and self-growth and pursues to expand her knowledge of her practice. Serene created Mindful Axis to expand her reach to individuals far beyond her local clients. She is excited to share her wealth of experience with the world online and through her FOUNDATIONS program!
